WELCOME to the Mid Coast Basin Water Quality website. The purpose of this site is to allow those who live, work and play in the Mid Coast Basin an opportunity to be informed and participate in watershed management activities designed to provide the highest water quality possible.

By its nature, watershed management requires partnerships among a variety of agencies, interest groups, and land managers. Watershed management requires the involvement of most, if not all, of the local "stakeholders'' -- those individuals, interest groups, and agencies with a stake in the health and productivity of the watershed and in the effort to properly manage and protect watershed health.

Successful watershed management requires the greatest possible integration of natural resource programs. We begin here, with this website, the formidable task of seeking better connections with other programs dealing with water quality, water quantity, fish and wildlife, wetlands, land-use and management practices.

We welcome your comments and solicit your recommendations for other Mid Coast Basin websites that should be included in our matrix of program connections.
